10K

The Challenge 10K tests your stamina and fitness, it’s a great race on it’s own and/or great training for a jump up to an endurance event. Here, you go the distance for a cancer patient/survivor!

The 5K race is an excellent “first race goal” or to jumpstart a fitness regimen. You can walk or run, the important thing is to just get moving. Every step you take helps a person recovering from cancer. You do it because you can!

We challenge ourselves because it makes us a better person. We take the Central Coast Cancer Challenge because we can, because we are healthy enough to take the steps, perhaps, a cancer patient or survivor can’t. We do it for our loved ones. We do it for a total stranger. We do it to end this terrible disease.

New Name. New Races. Food. Fun. Philanthropy.

Friends, the Central Coast Cancer Challenge has become the exclusive producer of The SAVOR Run. We are folding in three races – a 5K, 10K and “Fastest Mile” – that will take place on the streets of downtown San Luis Obispo on Sunday, September 29, 2013. REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN

And in partnership with the Sunset SAVOR the Central Coast event, your registration fee includes a gourmet pancake breakfast with all of the trimmings (all the rage with the foodie crowd and runners (e.g. Ryan Hall) AND a portion of your registration fee will benefit the local Cancer Well Fit program administered by the Avila Bay Club. We will bring you inspiring stories of the cancer patients and survivors who have been helped by Cancer Well Fit on our blog and Cancer Challenge Facebook Page, so we hope you will join the conversation.

The SAVOR Run is going to be a celebration – a time to gather to enjoy running/walking, to support those who may not be able to take those steps because they are battling cancer, to cheer those survivors whose courage and zest for life is an inspiration to us all and to feast at a community breakfast where we tell our stories, laugh and enjoy all of our accomplishments.
