The Central Coast Cancer Challenge is the effort of four friends who have been touched by cancer. It’s a disease that does not discriminate and seems to only have two degrees of separation between people, if that. If we don’t act now, studies indicate that 1 in 2 people could be diagnosed with cancer by the year 2030.

Heather Hellman
Event Director
has spent her career in brand marketing. She worked for the event marketing department at Philip Morris USA, producing and promoting professional tennis, Indy Car Racing, concert tours, comedy tours and much more. She also has experience in sponsorship sales and fulfillment and fundraising. Heather’s life has been touched by cancer through her sister who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2009.

Samantha Pruitt
Race Director

is an athlete, Certified Personal Trainer and Coach , co-founder of the Central Coast Triathlon Club and a USAT Certified Race Director. Samantha has organized and participated in athletic events, as well as spent part of her career in marketing. Samantha has been touched by cancer. She lost her Nana, mother and best friend to the disease.
