We’re so very happy you’re here. The Central Coast Cancer Challenge is the work and dream of four women, two are breast cancer survivors and the other two have been touched by cancer in a very personal way. We were having lunch one day and we decided to produce an event. Well, one thing lead to another and here we are. And, here you are!
We will be using this blog as a way to communicate about the event – the latest developments, new sponsors, training opportunities – and just about anything we think has relevance to the event. Please tell your friends, family, colleagues and acquaintances about the event and have them REGISTER. The more people that register and participate, the more money we have to give to our two charities.
Lastly, please also check out our “Touched By Cancer” Blog stories. These are your stories about how you have been touched by cancer and who you may be honoring by participating in this event. Please send your story (a couple of paragraphs) and a picture to info@CentralCoastCancerChallenge.com and we will post on the site.
Thank You for your support!

Registration is open for the 3rd Annual Central Coast Cancer Challenge!
We’re so happy to be bring this event to San Luis Obispo to support cancer patients, survivors and their families. Our challenges pale in comparison to having to endure cancer treatment. We’re dedicated to support those who are battling this disease. We have a really fun day in store and we hope you will register and bring your family, friends and colleagues along!
We have a new way for you to fundraise for our selected beneficiaries through Crowdrise, an online platform. Click on the link to the right. In the past two years, with your awesome participation, we have been able to donate $25,000 to local cancer patients, survivors and their families. We know how important these funds are to fill the gaps where insurance just doesn’t or won’t cover. It is so gratifying to see the CCCC money at work. Because of our donation to the Cancer WellFit program this past year, they will be able to offer their Well Fit services, administered through the Avila Bay Club, through 2012. If you don’t know about all the good works that Jack’s Helping Hand has done for children with cancer, I encourage you to visit their website.
If you get an opportunity, please thank our sponsors. Without them, we would not be able to produce this event. Their support is a strong testament to their commitment to the community and we hope you will support them.
Every year, we try to improve upon the event. Yes, we have had some glitches, but we are learning and are committed to making each event a fun and top-notch experience for you. If you have any suggestions (and we have taken note of those already sent), please visit our contact page and send us a note.
We encourage you to sign-up for our updates here on the website and we will keep you posted. You can also find updates, announcements and join our conversation on our Facebook Page and Twitter account. Just click on the Social Media buttons below.
We’ll see you at Laguna Lake Park on Sunday, August 5, 2012.

San Luis Obispo County was named “The Happiest Place in North America” by author Dan Buettner, seen on the Oprah Show and is continually named a Top 10 place to live by many publications. Half way between Los Angeles and San Francisco, the Central Coast has beautiful beaches, more than 300 wineries, locally grown fresh food, hiking, art galleries and some of the most quaint Main Streets in the USA. Come for the Central Coast Cancer Challenge, but stay for the attractions.
